Obituary of Glenwood MacWilliam

Glenwood Alfred “Glen” MacWilliam of Fredericton passed away June 1, 2013 at home with his family. Born in Ripples, NB in 1938, he was the son of the late Alfred and Leticia MacWilliam. Glen loved being with family and especially enjoyed being with the grandchildren attending various activities. He enjoyed spending time at the cottage with family and friends, often playing 45’s. He was a firefighter with the Fredericton Fire Department for 30 years, retiring in 1994. Glen is survived by his wife Betty; sons, Peter (Monica) and their children Aidan and Erin, Jason (Alicia) and their children Cole and Ava; brother-in-law, Lloyd Gill; several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Gordon; sisters, Ruth Bird, Thelma Randall, Florence Randall, Mary Tapley and Betty Gill. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from Marysville Baptist Church, 150 Cowperthwaite Street in Marysville on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 2 pm with Rev. Dr. Peter Sherwood officiating. Honourary Pallbearers will be Glenn and Ruby Henry, Royden and Ruth Allen, Don and Davida Scott. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Glen, the family suggests the Marysville Baptist Church Building Fund or the Brendon Oreto Foundation.
