Obituary of William "Billy" Astle

William Perley Astle

The passing of William “Billy” Perley Astle of Fredericton, NB, husband of Noreen (Poore) Astle, occurred on Friday, January 17, 2025 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on October 19, 1941 in Bloomfield Ridge, NB, he was a son of the late Spencer and Martha (Palmer) Astle.   

In addition to his wife, Billy is survived by his children, Todd Astle (Laurie) and Tara Murdoch: grandchildren, Christopher and Brady (Jazmine); great grandchildren, Kylie, Harper, Jeremiah, Ella and Charlie; sister, Ruth Grant; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Billy was predeceased by his siblings, Nellie Norrad and Weldon Astle.

A Celebration of Life will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 7-9 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
