Bonita Louise Waugh

The passing of Bonita “Bonnie” Louise Waugh of Fredericton, NB, wife of Benjamin "Ben" Waugh, occurred on Monday, January 13, 2025 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on November 9, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Darrell and Zada (Griffiths) Waugh. Bonnie was truly a caring and compassionate Nurse (RN), her entire career. Bonnie was able to provide comfort to many people during her years of service.

Bonnie's faith has been very important to her throughout her life, she was a long time member of Douglas Baptist Church as well as an active member of the Church choir for many years.

In addition to her husband, Bonnie is survived by her children, Greg Preston (Kelly) and Christy Preston both of Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Jaiden Macfarlane and Jordan Preston; great grandchildren,  Ryker Macfarlane and Avery Macfarlane; step-sons, Benjie Waugh (Lisa); of Canterbury, NB and Andrew Waugh (Stephanie) of Yoho Lake, NB; step grand son Colby Waugh ; of Canterbury, NB; step-grand daughters, Sadie & Isabel; of Yoho Lake, NB; brothers, Duane Waugh (Gail) of Lower Coverdale, NB and Rodney Waugh of Vancouver, BC.; sister-in-law, Donna Waugh (Durwood); of Dartmouth, NS; Ex husband, Bill Preston (Armelle); of Fredericton, NB. Many nephews & a niece.

Besides her parents, Bonnie was predeceased by her brother, Durwood Waugh.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm; followed by a Memorial Service at 4 pm with Rev. Peter Moore officiating.  Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery, Fredericton, NB at a later date.
