John James McIntyre

This has got to be the saddest and hardest thing

we ever had to write.

The sudden passing of John James McIntyre IV occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2025 at the young age of 31 due to diabetic complications. John James McIntyre IV was born on September 19, 1993 in Glace Bay, NS to Jim and Laura McIntyre.

A few years back he left Glace Bay and moved to New Brunswick with his immediate family. John was always smiling ear to ear and loved being around his family and friends and joking around. He lived life to its fullest and rode it daily. John loved his Maple Leafs and Blue Jays; 5 pin bowling, golfing, playing sledge-hockey with the Fredericton Caps. John also loved collecting sneakers and hats.

In addition to his parents, John was a father to Jaxon (Rebekah Turnbull, mom and friend); stepdaughter, Sophia Mae; brother to Alysha (Jesse), Thomas (Molly) and Autumn (Corey); grandson to Pops Jim Sr.; uncle to his 3 nieces whom he dearly loved, Charlie Eliza, Briar Margaret and Ophelia Jane; nephew to his uncle Keith (Karen) and David (Chelsea); special grand aunt and uncle Louise and Kevin; his buddy and friend Mike Burden; many grand aunts and grand uncles and cuz’s; and pets Oliver, Lady and Diablo.

John was predeceased by his paternal nan Margaret McIntyre; maternal grandparents; great grandparents and grand uncles; his best friend Tyler Paris. .

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the War Amps, IWK (Endocrinology Department) or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com.

Celebrate My Life

Remember me with love and joy,

Let gratitude fill your heart.

Thankful for the time we had,

Gone…yet not apart.

If we measured life in moments,

Not in months or years,

I lived a hundred lifetimes,

Loved by all who hold me dear.

I hope you’ll find your smile,

And generously speak my name.

Share stories and my heart,

Your love for life unchanged.

Celebrate the life I lived,

I will be watching from above.

I am always with you,

Sending you my light and love.
