Obituary of Joan Lunn

The passing of Joan Lunn, formerly of Perth-Andover and Fredericton, occurred at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre in Charlottetown PEI on December 30, 2024. Joan was born on May 3, 1934 in Bristol NB, daughter of the late William and Mary Jane Briggs. She was the last surviving member of her family.

Joan was the loving wife of the late Alden Lunn; mother of Kim (John Lennon) and Jan (Mitchell Zelman); grandmother of Emily (Shaun), Mallory (Justin) and Wesley (Allison) Lennon and Kaleb (Kate) and Jacob (Maggie) Zelman; great grandmother to Audrey, Sophie, Phoebe, Gwyneth, Ellia and Jack. Joan is survived by numerous nieces and nephews along with dear friends.

Joan was an avid golfer and gardener and loved spending time outdoors in nature. She enjoyed a daily walk (or two) for many years and was still going for lengthy walks into her 90’s and making new friends along the way.

At Joan’s request, there will be no visitation or services but a celebration of her life will be held in Perth-Andover at a later date. The family would like to thank the following individuals for their exemplary, compassionate care throughout her illness: Drs. Jason Thompson and Krista Cassell, all of the staff at the Provincial Palliative Care Centre and the PEI Home Care Integrated Palliative Care nursing team for their incredible kindness and support.
