Obituary of Olive Marie Storey

With heavy hearts, the family of Olive “Ollie” Marie Storey announce her passing on Friday, December 27, 2024 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. She was the daughter of the Arvel and the late Afreda (McAleer) Storey, Grand Lake Road, Doaktown NB. Ollie worked several years at Windsor Court, Fredericton before moving back to her hometown of Doaktown in 2017. Ollie will always be remembered as a quiet and shy person who kept to herself, would never ask anyone for anything.

 

Ollie is survived by her siblings, Dean Storey (Marlene) of Fredericton NB, Brenda Hovey (Melvin) of Holtville NB, Tina Lomas (Mark) of Keswick, Ontario, Carol Penney of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Cindy Reid (John) of Boiestown NB, Cheryl Palmater of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Jeff Storey of Doaktown New Brunswick; nieces, Rachel and Cadence; nephews, Andy, Tyler, Tristan, Ryan, Lucas, Taylor, Nick and Justin; great-nephews, Keenan, Brody, Braxten, Kayden and Ben; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and canine friend, “Friday”.

 

She was predeceased by her son, Sheldon Storey; brother, Derek Storey; nephew, Shaun Hovey; niece, Aurora Storey; grandparents, Adam and Anne ( Lyons) Storey, Vincent and Laura (Muck) McAleer.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of York Funeral Home’s Miramichi Valley Chapel. Following Ollie’s wishes, there will be no immediate services. A Graveside Service will be announced in the spring, to be held in the Doaktown Wesleyan Methodist Cemetery.
