Obituary of Alice Lyons

It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Alice (Jenkins) Lyons. She passed peacefully from this life on Friday, December 13, 2024 at her home for the past two years, Shannex Neill Hall, Fredericton, NB. She was born February 25, 1946 in Chipman, NB.

Alice is survived by her brothers, Edward Jenkins (Mary) and Lloyd Jenkins; sisters-in-law, Mildred, Yvonne, Vivian and Dorothy Jenkins. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews from her large family of brothers and sisters. Also surviving her is her life long friend, Suzie Davidson, who with their daily phone calls and frequent visits kept Alice in great company and loved by such a close friend.

Alice was predeceased by her husband, Darrell Lyons; parents, Irvine and Beulah (Bishop) Jenkins; stepmother, Violet Jenkins (Selwah); brothers, Gilbert Jenkins, David Jenkins, Harold Jenkins, Ralph Jenkins, Burnham Jenkins; sister, Bernice (Jenkins) Larsen, sister-in-law, Mary Jenkins; brother-in-law, Harley Larsen; niece, Beverly Jenkins; nephew, Todd Jenkins; and great niece, Andrea Blyth.

Alice was a faithful member of Capital Community Church, Fredericton, NB and faithfully tuned in online for the past few years when she was unable to attend in person.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, December 16, 2024 at 1:00 pm at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB led by her Pastor, Jack Leaman. A reception for visiting among family and friends will follow the service. Interment will take place in the spring at the United Pentecostal Church Cemetery, Chipman, NB.

We want to express our appreciation to the Capital Community staff for their support during this time with Pastor Jack leading the service, providing a memorial bulletin and reception luncheon.

Also, many thanks to the staff of Shannex Neill Hall who provided such wonderful care to Alice in her two years there and especially during her final hours Friday morning in palliative care. Words can’t express how much it meant to know there was a guitar playing, singing of Amazing Grace and scriptures read as she peacefully passed to spend Christmas and eternity in heaven – her life well lived for the Lord.
