Obituary of Kathleen Mary Hannah Hunter

The passing of Kathleen “Kathy” Mary Hannah Hunter, wife of the late Roy Hunter formerly of Ludlow, NB, occurred on Friday, December 6, 2024 at the Central New Brunswick Nursing Home.  Born on June 14, 1928 in Ludlow, NB, she was the daughter of the late Timothy and Gladys Mary (Loggie) McCarthy. She was a member of the Boiestown United Church and, also she was a member of the Boiestown Seniors Group.

Kathy is survived by her children, Vernon Hunter (Cathy) of Ludlow, Susan Green (Danny) of Fredericton, Norman Hunter (Cindy) of Millet, AB; grandchildren, Larry Hunter (Stephanie), Sarah Hunter (Jason), Ben Cochrane, Adam Hunter, Kimberly Conrad (Jon), Kyle Green (Kristen) and Jordan Green (Athena); great-grandchildren, Myles, Brooke, Brady, Sophie, Diana and Dexter; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by an infant son, Joseph Leslie Hunter; and her brother, Murray McCarthy.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home’s Miramichi Valley Chapel, 7681 Route 8, New Bandon on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 12-2 pm and will be followed directly by a Funeral Service at 2 pm with Rev. Brian Curtis officiating.  A reception will take place after the service at the Astle Recreation Centre. Interment will be in the Astle Community Cemetery at a later date. Pallbearers are Ben Cochrane, Carl Hunter, John Hunter, Terry Hunter, Calvin Calhoun and Roger MacKay. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer Society, New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
