Obituary of David Arthur Richardson
The passing of David Arthur Richardson, husband of Glenna (Newell) Richardson of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at his home. Born on December 18, 1941 in Somerville, NB, he was the son of the late Arthur and Nellie (Cook) Richardson. David was the owner and operator of Dave’s Barber Shop on Main Street for 46 years before retiring. He was affectionately known as “Dave the Barber” to all who knew him.
In addition to his loving wife of 62 years, David is survived by his daughter, Toby Richardson Carr (Charles Carr); son, Troy Richardson (Michèle); grandchildren, Nicholas Richardson (Olivia), Joseph Richardson (Claudia); great-granddaughter Georgia.
Besides his parents, David was predeceased by his sister, Eleanor Richardson; brother, Fraser Richardson (Ruth).
The family would like to thank Extra Mural nurses and staff, along with a special thank you to Kindred Home Care and Dr. S Pond for the excellent care and compassion shown to them during this trying time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the loving care of York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton NB. At the family’s request there will be no public services at this time. Friends and family are welcome to stop by the house at 5 Adney Street on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 between 1-4 pm to pay their respects. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery, Fredericton at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Alzheimer Society.
