Obituary of Barbara Ann Davies

It is with heavy hearts we wish to announce the passing of Barbara Ann Davies of Ward Settlement, NB, which occurred on Monday, December 2, 2024 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital.  Born on April 11, 1941 in Stanley, NB.  She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Leslie; daughter Cindy (Bliss) Munn, son Robert (Maryanne) Davies, daughter Ann (Garth) Sparkes.  Her beloved grandchildren Dawn (Peter), Jason (Larissa), Kaitlyn (Kyle), Tyler (Kristy), and cherished great grandchildren Jacob, Thomas, and Hazel, along with her brother Bill Boyce and several nieces and nephews. Her special companion Buddy the Dog.

Barb is predeceased by her parents Thomas Hubert and Marjorie (Spilman) Boyce, and brothers Norman Spilman and John “Jack” Boyce.

Barbara worked at the Nashwaak Villa as a Nurses Aid until she retired. She was a devoted wife and mother and always put her families needs in front of her own.  She was a member of the Stanley Golden Age Club where she enjoyed playing cards and preparing treats for the potlucks. She enjoyed playing her daily computer games and staying connected with family and friends.  She also enjoyed playing bingo, knitting, and baking.  Barb and Leslie spent their many years together building their dream home where they spent time gardening, fishing, and enjoying one another’s company.  Barb ensured her family received their favorite treat which included money cake, pickles, and cookies.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jonathan Clayton and the doctors and nurses in the Palliative Care Unit at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital for their care and to Eva Morton for her visits with Mum. 

Mum, Nanny, Old Nanny will be missed and never forgotten. 

There will be a private family service at a later date.
