Greta worked at The Daily Gleaner and The Atlantic Advocate; then re-invented herself in 1980 training as a hair stylist, and then operating her own business. She won many trophies in her younger years as powder puff drag racer. She and Johnny enjoyed their summers on a seasonal campground with their extended family, golfing and playing washer toss. She was always up for weekly Bingo, card games and a challenging round of scrabble. She was an accomplished knitter- at a young age she won prizes for her Mary Maxim Sweaters at the Stanley Fair. More recently knitting was a favorite pass time with many of her creations donated to charities both at home and at Grace United Church in Niagara-on-the-Lake. She was very proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved when they visited -always ready with fresh baking and a few healthy snacks to balance things out.

The family would like to thank Dr. McClure (Emergency Room), Dr. Fagir (Palliative Care), nurses Jessie, Flecia, Cameron, Etim, Sharon and Catherine that attended to her needs during her final days at DECH after she suffered a devastating stroke.

In keeping with Greta’s wishes there will be no visitation. Friends and family are invited to a tribute to Greta and her internment, to take place at Hillcrest United Church in Stanley on November 30th at 1 PM, with reception to follow. Personal Condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com

For those who wish, remembrances can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB or charity of the donor’s choice.
