In Loving Memory of Barbara Alice Dore

April 9, 1938 – November 22, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Alice Dore, who peacefully left us on November 22, 2024, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, New Brunswick, at the age of 86. Barbara was born on April 9, 1938, in Fredericton, where she lived a life rich in love, kindness, and dedication to her family.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Bev Bates and Bill Bates, her sister Jocelyn, and her beloved son Michael Dore. She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Dean Dore, and her daughters Cheryl Porter and Wendy McNabb. Her legacy lives on in her grandchildren Trisha, Andrew, Frances, Jennifer, Matthew, and Holly, as well as six cherished great-grandchildren each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Barbara was a woman of many talents, with a passion for playing cards, baking, and cooking. Her home was always filled with the comforting aromas of her delicious meals and baked treats, and her generous spirit touched all who knew her. Whether she was hosting a family gathering or enjoying a friendly card game, Barbara’s warmth and laughter created lasting memories for all who were lucky enough to be in her presence.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at Enhanced Living in Gagetown for their incredible care and unwavering support during Barbara’s time there. Your compassion and kindness will never be forgotten.

In accordance with Barbara's wishes, there will be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of New Brunswick.

Barbara’s memory will live on forever in the hearts of her family. She will be dearly missed and always remembered with love.
