Obituary of Stephen Bradley Hayes

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Stephen Bradley Hayes announces his passing which occurred on November 18, 2024, at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 11, 1973, in St. Catharines, Ontario, he was the son of Jocelyn Royer and the late Francis Hayes.

Stephen was known to be a bit of an outdoorsman with hunting being a fun pass time and fishing being a lifelong passion. His love for and time spent fishing reflected his determination and patience which carried over to his day-to-day life. In the off seasons, Stephen could be found hunkering down for a night of video games or time well spent with his family. Stephen was also known to be quite the foodie and would never pass up an opportunity to dig in and indulge.

He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Marsha Hayes; daughters, Jessica Hayes (Coleman) and Abby Hayes (Michael); grandson, Jordan Billings; mother, Jocelyn Royer (Len); furry friends, Bones and Bailey; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Besides his father, Stephen was predeceased by his sister Sandy Hayes.

The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for all the love and support shown throughout Stephen’s illness.  As well as a special thanks to extramural nurse, Shelly and the palliative team at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.

Arrangements have been entrusted to York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, where visitation will take place on Friday, November 22, 2024, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St Francis Catholic Church, 2130 Rote 102, Lincoln, on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 10:00 am with Fr.
