Obituary of David Ernest Nichol

NICHOL, David Ernest passed away at home on Friday, November 8, 2024 at the age of 90. 

Dave was born in Toronto on April 4, 1934 to William and Rose (Green) Nichol.  He moved to Moncton in later years, where he met and married Pauline Billings in 1989.  They spent many happy years together in both New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, where they made many dear friends.

Dave was a man of many interests and talents, and never hesitated to help anyone in need.  He was a loyal, loving Christian man.

Left behind to mourn are his daughter Barbara Webster; his sister Helen Hicks and niece Nancy; his brother Jim (June) Nichol and nephews and nieces Sharon, Cathy, and Stephen; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; his daughter-in-law, Annabelle (Nerie) Nichol and her family, all of Ontario.  In New Brunswick, he leaves behind sisters-in-law Joan (Ralph) Baird; Sheila (Dave) Collins; Linda (Robert) Burton and Cheryl Billings; together with brother-in-law Conrad (Marcia) Billings and close friend Eugene Lyons, as well as many longtime and dear friends in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and New Brunswick.  Besides his parents, Dave was predeceased by his brother-in-law Bruce, his nephews Brian and John, his son Mark, and his wife Pauline.

There will be no visitation.  A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB.  Following the reception, there will be a private interment at Burtts Corner Community Cemetery.
