With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mary Emma Currie on Saturday October 19, 2024. She was our loving mom, a caring nanny, and a treasured sister. She was 95 years old.

She will be so missed by her daughters, Donna Blanchard (Terry), Kathy Wilkins (Michael) and Cynthia Currie; sons, Ralph “Butch” Currie (Janet) and Stephen Currie; her sisters Jean, Jannie, Nancy (Keith) and Sharron; brothers Fred, Kenny and Michael (Lillian); grandchildren, Tammy, Joey C, Matthew, Ryan, Ben, Mikel, Stevie, Troy, Amanda, Michelle, Joey W, Kevin, Pam, Sean, and Erika; great grandchildren, Sean, Avery, Abbie, Alia, Amber, Aiden, Owen, Everett, Gracie, Seth, Noah, Austin, Emma, Olivia, Tyler, Tanner, Breanna, Jaxson, Addie, Ethan, Quinn, Julia, Dahlia and Archer;  great-great-grandchildren Sophia, Serenity, and DeLuca; sisters in law, Nancy McAllister (Ernie), Anne Williams (Bev) and Norma Levy (Jaime); brothers in law, Dan Howells, Henry Currie, Richard Howells (Elaine) and Randy Currie (Cheryl); she is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and her cat, Murray.

She was predeceased by her parents, Julia and Watson Murray, her husband, Manzer Ralph Currie, her brothers, Gilbert, Sterling, Dale, and Doug Murray, her sister Joan,
her great granddaughter, Madison-Mya  and by her very dear friend Verna Currie.
She was also nanny to Sean, Terry, Janice, Kevin, Chris, Brandon, Tom, Justin, Damien, and Trudy ...who all came into her life for short or long times, and she loved each and every one of them and specified that we mention these ones so that they would know that they were ALL special to her.

Our mom was an outstanding example of love, compassion and generosity, which is evident in the love and devotion she has received back from her family and friends.  She loved to talk and had many, many stories to share of a full life, from her family, school days, hardships of depression, her romance with dad and so much more. Her friend Shirley said in her last visit that mom would have her bent over with laughter from her stories. She loved babies; she could not resist any of them, and her greatest joy was to be holding a little one. She had the awesome privilege of becoming a grandmother to the fifth generation of her grand babies, each one was special and dear to her. Mom lived life fully right up to her last few days, she was game for anything fun and adventurous.

Have a good rest mom, see you when you wake up.
