Obituary of Ina Mae Williston

On September 28, 2024, our beloved Mom and Nannie was called home to be with her Lord and Saviour.  Though our hearts are saddened, we rejoice in the knowledge that she is now resting in the arms of Jesus.

I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith.  Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness……2 Timothy 4:7-8

The passing of Ina Mae (Hughes) Williston occurred in Fredericton at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born June 17, 1934 in Fredericton, NB, she was a daughter of the late Lewis and Bertha (Howland) Hughes.

Ina loved her family deeply and spent much of her life faithfully praying for each and every one of them.  She was a quiet, faithful servant, always leading by example.  She cherished every occasion to gather together.

Ina was a die hard Habs and Blue Jays fan.  In her later years, she was able to live out her dream of travelling to Montreal to watch her beloved Habs play.

She will be deeply missed by her daughters Wendy Vetter (late Stan) and Judy Williston (late Dan), both of Fredericton; grandchildren Jennifer Vetter, Jeff Vetter (Tiffany), Andrea Vetter, Kelly Paul and Brad Morehouse; great grandchildren Brandon Hart, Ashlyn Vetter, Ava Vetter, Mallory Brooks, Hunter Brooks, Patricia Paul and Jayda Morehouse and great great granddaughter Cambrie Brooks; brother Neil Hughes (Joyce) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Ina was predeceased by sisters Ardith Coughlan and Joanne Williston.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, October 3, 2024 from 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at Corbett Avenue Wesleyan Church, 55 Corbett Avenue, Fredericton, NB on Friday, October 4, 2024 at 2 pm with Rev. Jason Vienneau and Pastor Normand McDonald officiating. A Private Family interment will take place following the service. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Corbett Avenue Wesleyan Church or to the New Brunswick Lung Association.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
