Obituary of Mary Catherine O'Leary

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving mother, Mary Catherine O’Leary (Kay), of Fredericton, New Brunswick on September 19, 2024.   Kay was born December 2, 1933, in Norton New Brunswick, and was the daughter of the late G. Stanley and Catherine (Campbell) O'Leary.

Kay is survived by her children Cindy Winott (Steve), Bernie Mazerolle (Trudy) and Paul Mazerolle (Amanda), grandchildren Adam, Erin, Matthew, and Jacob, and great grandchildren Carter, Quinn, and Hazel.

Besides her parents, Kay was predeceased by sisters Anne Parlee, Jean Wilson, and Jesse Malone and leaves behind one surviving sister, Betty Cotter.  

Kay was a friend to everyone she met.  She had a generous spirit and was a very caring and loving mother.   She loved spending time with her family and helping others.  Her generosity was beyond compare.    

A service celebrating Kay’s life will be held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Nashwaaksis on September 24^th  at 11 am followed by a reception.  Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm at York Funeral Home on Monday, September 23^rd. Donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick or to a charity of the donor’s choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
