Obituary of Doreen Elizabeth Sharpe

The passing of Doreen Elizabeth Sharpe, wife of the late Stanley “Armand” Sharpe of Fredericton, NB, occurred on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on December 9, 1925 in Hampton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Theora (Titus) Reid.

Doreen is survived by her son, Donald A. Sharpe (Mabel); grandchildren, Carl Sharpe (Sheri) and Amanda Cormier (Jason); great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Everly and Lexie; several nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband and parents, Doreen was predeceased by her daughter, Arlene Sharpe; and sister, Miriam Hunter.

She was a graduate of Vocational High School and after working at the TB Hospital in Saint John and at Staples store in Fredericton, she became a full-time homemaker.  She’ll be remembered for her commitment to her faith and a home available for fellowship.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Sunday, September 22, 2024 from 6 to 8 pm.  A Funeral Service will be held at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, on Monday, September 23, 2024 at 1 pm with Murray Egger and Charles O’Regan officiating.  Interment will follow in Fredericton Rural Cemetery.
