Dear Wilma and family, Larry and I were so very sorry to hear of Ian's passing. Ian was a bright, kind and gentle fellow and we always enjoyed getting together. I am so grateful I had the chance to see him when we were in the Maritimes this past July. I am reminded of how fragile life is and how important it is to make the time to see each other! Wilma, know that you are most definitely in our thoughts during this time of deep loss. We will be lifting you and all the family up in prayer as you mourn the life of your cherished husband, father, grandfather, cousin and friend.
Much love to you, Lorraine and Larry Depow

Dear Ann, Allison and families. Sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. Your Dad and Mom taught me how to ski at the Beaver Valley Ski Club in the late 60s. I remember your Dad's love of his old Volvo cars.
Thinking of you both.

Wilma, Ann, Allison, and all of your extended family: we are so saddened to hear that Ian has passed away. Ian was a wonderful, thoughtful, and caring neighbour and friend. We treasure the memories we have of the many conversations we had every summer with Ian, and the times we worked together on many different activities. It was always a pleasure to see Ian back on his sailboat for the first time each summer - he enjoyed it so much. We miss him already. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. - Jim and Jan Morrison

Dear Wilma, Allie, Ann, Drake, & many grandchildren…
Uncle Ian, was a very quiet influence in our families’ lives. Always caring & kind to the Ramages & Smith clans. Our mother Dorothy & father Ev were very happy to have him as a brother-in-law. He was a steadfast caregiver to Eleanor , & an amazing father to Ann & Allison, & a cherished husband to Wilma. We appreciated him speaking at Dad’s funeral when he passed, & our Mom always loved receiving Wilma’s letters.
Nathan, Erin, & my granddaughters were fortunate enough to visit Ian & Wilma lay summer on a trip East.
We remember wonderful meals shared, lovely visits at Christmases, Thanksgiving & fond memories…. Uncle Ian will be missed by all of us
Susan, Jan, David, & Julie & our partners & kiddos.

Wilma, Ann, Allison, Drake, John, Dave, Nancy, Margie and families,
Ed and I were so sorry to hear about Ian - such happy memories of chats with him and you, Wilma, and sometimes Ann or Allison at the Sand Point beach after most everyone else had gone up to their cottages to prepare supper. He was such a lovely guy who shared with us all such a deep sense of warmth and kindness. A terrible loss for your family but also for the Sand Point community and those who were so fond of him.
Ed and I will be thinking of you all this weekend and in the days ahead.

Dear Wilma, and the rest of the family,
I was saddened to read of Ian's death. What a loss to you, his family, and all his friends. I remember when you, Wilma, began courting to use an old-fashioned word. But you have had many happy years and I am glad of that. You would not want him back to suffering, but know he is at rest now. You will be in our prayers during this very sad time in your lives.
Blessings,
Shiela Watson White and John White, now living in Ontario

One of my vivid memories from my early 20s, in the early 60s, was an evening when Ian and I and John McMullin went to Saint John in the McMullin Mercedes. We walked out on the Reversing Falls Bridge. There was the strong fragrance of the paper mill near that bridge. I don't know what we were in Saint John for, but both guys were great company and it was a great evening. Later, I attended Nashwaaksis United for a time, and frequently saw Ian there. That's all. Bill Walker
