Obituary of Hazel Irene Inman

It is with saddened hearts that the family announces that Hazel Irene Inman, 89, of Fredericton, New Brunswick, passed away peacefully in the early hours of September 1, 2024. 

 

Hazel was born on November 19, 1934 to James ‘Hilton’ and Cora (née Palmer) Hunter in Astle, New Brunswick. She was predeceased by her sisters, Florence Gibson and Faye Calhoun.

 

After working a few odd jobs in her teenage years, Hazel completed her high school education through correspondence and went on to pursue nursing at the Saint John School of Nursing. Shortly thereafter, she met Paul H. Inman and they married on August 16, 1958 and had 66 wonderful years together.

 

As an adult Hazel was employed at the Saint John Regional Hospital, Victoria Public Hospital in Fredericton and Hotel Dieu in Perth and in a doctor’s office. She was a stay home mom while raising her children.

 

Hazel was known for her hospitality and showing her love through serving others in her home, at her church and in her community. She especially enjoyed serving her immediate and extended family.

 

Hazel is survived by her husband Paul; her five children; Richard Inman; Laureen (Steven) John, and their children Katherine, Christopher (Dihan Mia), Clayton (Elin), and Caleb (Rachel Chan); Randall (Merry-Lynne) Inman, and their children Candice, Alexander (Stephanie), Julia and Isaac; Ronald (Pam) Inman, and their children, Ashlyn and Haley; Ross Inman and his children, Gema (Justin) Gould, Sabrina, and Mitchell; and her 4 great-grandchildren  Owen, Jaxon, Briar and Cora; her brother Harding(Susan) Hunter and sister Barbara Fozard and many nieces and nephews. 

 

The family of Hazel Inman appreciate the care and kindness shown to Hazel during her recent four month stay at the Chalmers Hospital.

 

Services will be held at Journey Wesleyan Church on September 7, 2024 at 11am. There will be no visitation. If desired, charitable donations may be made to the Chalmers Hospital or a charity of your choice.
