Obituary of Leslie Nelson Amos

Please share a memory of Leslie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Leslie “Leck” Nelson Amos came into the world April 12, 1930. He grew up on the family farm in Amostown and enjoyed his days roaming the woods and fishing in the Miramichi.

He joined the army in the 1950’s and criss-crossed Canada, sailed the Atlantic to serve in Germany for a year, and he sailed the Pacific to serve in South Korea for a year.

When he returned home, he met the love of his life, Eileen Reid, had two daughters, Kimberly (granddaughter Bailey) and Beverly, and provided for his family as a woodsman for Russell and Swims until he began working as a carpenter full time in the late 1970’s.

His greatest decision in life, receiving Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour, was made in 1968. He would spend the rest of his days honouring his God and telling others about Jesus.

He is survived by his wife Eileen (Reid), daughters Kimberly and Beverly, granddaughter Bailey and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents Hartley and Beatrice (O’Donnell), his siblings Leola (Moore), Jean (Harry), Grace (Arnold), Evelyn (Dewey), Cecil (Annie), Lyman (Mary), Carl, and nephews William Caroll, Billy Lyons, Kent Amos, Jamie Amos; and nieces Sylvia Cail, Shelly Dee, Betty McDonald, Linda Higgins.
