Obituary of Gabriel Theresa Kerr
Kerr, “Dolly” Gabriel Theresa
The passing of “Dolly” Gabriel Theresa (Mahoney) Kerr of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late John "Jack" Kerr, occurred on August 11, 2024 at Neill Hall. Born on February 16, 1929 in Grand Falls, NB, she was the daughter of the late Mary (Bernard) and Ambrose Mahoney.
Dolly was educated at Sacred Heart Convent School in Grand Falls, NB and Saint Joseph's School of Nursing in Saint John, NB, where she worked until she married. She was a member of the St. Anthony’s elite 90’s club, the “Swinging Sixties” exercise program, Marysville Bowling League and St. Anthony’s quilting club. She loved working jigsaw puzzles, knitting, reading, playing board games and cards along with being an avid walker.
Dolly is survived by her children, John Kerr (Krisann), Deborah Allen (Dana), Paul Kerr (Dawn), Catherine McKenna (Jim); grandchildren; Danielle Kerr, Christopher Allen, Victoria (Patrick) Fairley, Peter (Stefanie) Allen, Angela Wilson, Siobhan, Laura, David, Molly and Maggie Kerr, Conor, Aidan and Liam McKenna; 10 great grandchildren, Rhiannon, Lyllian, Jordan, Ryan, Dayna, Jaxon, Ryker, Finn, Adalyn and Freya; sister-in-law’s, Eleanor Mahoney, Edie Kerr and Francoise Kerr; several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her grandson, Andrew Kerr; great-grandson, Elliott Fairley; brothers, Francis (Gertrude), Ambrose, Michael and Clement; sisters, Rita (Robert) Barry and Eleanor (Medard) Godbout.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 from 2 – 4 pm & 6:30 – 8:30 pm. The recitation of the rosary will take place following the evening visitation for those who wish to stay. The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Anthony's Church,
