Obituary of Gordon Claire Richardson

It is with great sadness that the family of Gordon Claire Richardson of Beaver Dam, NB, announces his peaceful passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, with many of his family by his side, on Friday, July 12th, at the age of 81.  Gordon was born in Millville, NB, on February 19th, 1943.

Gordon will be greatly missed by his loving and caring wife of 61 years, Audrey (Billings) Richardson of Beaver Dam, NB. He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Rosemary Maynard (Dan) of Fredericton Jct. and Stacey Richardson-Banks (Shawn) of Seattle.

 

He was a proud and loving grandfather to Danielle Campbell (Dave), Curtis Maynard (fiancé Sarah), Tanner Maynard (fiancé Lauren) and Lukas Banks, and great grandsons Maverick and Jhett Campbell.

 

Gordon is survived by his three sisters, Paulette, Pam, and Wanda, and brother Arnold, along with extended family.  He is pre-deceased by his mother, Izetta Gorman, and both his fathers, Arden Gorman and Waldo Richardson.

 

Inspired by his father, who lost his life in WWII and a step-father who survived, Gordon always understood their sacrifice.  As a young man, he was involved in the army reserves.  In his professional life, Gordon held several jobs and retired in 2008 after 25 years of service with the Province of NB.

 

Whether it was at work or with family, friends, or total strangers, Gordon "Gord" was known for his quick wit, engaging story-telling, and his ability to see humor in all aspects of life.  He played hockey in his youth and was a dedicated sports fan.  He enjoyed fishing, wildlife, and traveling.

 

In honor of his memory, family and friends are invited to attend the graveside service which will be held at the Tracy (United) Baptist Cemetery on Saturday, September 7th, 2024 beginning at 2 pm, with Pastor Larry Matthews officiating. Located in Tracy, NB on Cemetery Road, between blue marker 615 and 619 Whitetail Drive. Geographic coordinates: 45.66622, -66.68622. A reception will follow at the Faith United Baptist Church, New Maryland, NB, 525 New Maryland Hwy, New Maryland, NB E3C 1K1.
