Please share a memory of Bruce A. to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce A. Forbes of Burtts Corner, NB, on July 5, 2024 in Fredericton, NB. Born in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of the late Donald Alexander Grey Forbes and Adrianna Leonarda Forbes (Seeuwen).

Bruce was an Engineering Technologist, and spent the majority of his career with the Department of Transportation. In his spare time when working, and even after he retired, he spent many hours volunteering for the Burtts Corner Lions Club, where he developed many lifelong friendships and a second family. Bruce was also an avid hunter, and spent many seasons hunting with his father-in-law Dave, his brother Bob, and his sons, among many other friends and family. He also cherished his time on many canoe trips, from the Keswick River to the Restigouche. He was always at peace on the water.

One thing that he felt was more important to him than almost anything else in his life, were his grandchildren. He was known as Papa, Grampy or Bampy, and loved that all the kids always flocked to him, to either snuggle in or sit and chat. They will miss his warmth and teasing nature immensely.

Bruce is survived and missed by his children, Jason A. Davidson (Sheila), Harvey, NB; Jarret T. Forbes (Mary), Burtts Corner, NB; Laura G. Forbes-McAllister (Aaron), Taymouth, NB; Nicholas B. Forbes (Taylor), Burtts Corner, NB; his mother and father in-law, David and Joan Chalmers, Deep Brook, NS; his grandchildren, Jade, Ethan, London, Grace, Grey, Rhys, Myles, Lachlan; his siblings, Robert Forbes (Mary), Karen Dudziak (Bogdan), Kenneth Forbes (Debbie); and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife and life partner of over 40 years, Karen Forbes (Chalmers) in 2020 whom he has missed tremendously, His father, Donald Forbes in 1977, His mother Narda (Seeuwen) Forbes in 2015, infant brother, Charles Alexander Forbes, 1949 and his step-father William Haggart in 2021.

There will be a private graveside service at the Nashwaak Bridge Community Cemetery at his request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Fredericton (Palliative Care Resource Network Inc.). Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
