The passing of Douglas Fraser Peterson “Doug” of Burtts Corner, NB, husband of Florence  Isabel  (Works) Peterson, occurred on Sunday, June 30, 2024 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on March 14, 1950 in Pictou, NS,  he was the son of the late William Borge Peterson and Katherine Margaret (Fraser) (Peterson) Smith. Doug worked as a Poultry Farmer for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing on the computer, feeding the chipmunks on the deck of his home, and in his earlier years he was an avid bowler.

 

In addition to his loving wife of 36 years, Doug is survived by his son, Mark Peterson (Amber Burgess) of Fredericton, NB; daughters, Christina Peterson (Kirk Dicks) of SK and Heather Marie Wilkinson-Peterson (Albert) of New Glasgow, NS; sisters, Shirley MacLeod (late Harold) of Greenhill, NS, Heather MacFarlane of Fredericton, NB and Lois Lynch of Winnipeg, MB; brother, David Peterson (Wanda) of Waasis, NB; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cats, Cali, Pepper and Star.


Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Margot Peterson; brothers, William (Billy) Peterson, Carl Peterson (late Joyce); special girl and Doug's greatest joy, Cash.

 

The family wishes to express a heartfelt thank you to the Keswick Valley Fire Department for their efforts and compassion shown to Doug and Florence.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB. There will be no visitation or service held at Doug’s request. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or the Canadian Diabetes Association. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
