It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Franklin “Tom” Lloyd Glenwood Nowlan of Kingsley Road, NB on Sunday, June 23, 2024 at the Oromocto Public Hospital, Oromocto, NB. Born on November 17, 1933 in English Settlement, he lived on the Kingsley Road for almost 50 years. He was the son of the late Kirby and Gladys (Keenan) Nowlan. Tom was an old school mechanic; people brought their cars and trucks from all different places for him to look under the hood, he also drove gravel trucks. He always said when someone passed away, they “folded their mitts,” well he finally folded his.

Tom is survived by his son, Timmy (Gaylene) Nowlan of Eddystone, MB; daughters, Patty (Darrell) MacKinnon of Woodlands, NB and Michelle (Phillip) Ingraham of Lower Woodlands, NB; grandchildren, James (Claire) MacKinnon of Rusagonis, NB, Kathleen (Gordon) Goodine of Fredericton, NB, Chenoa Johnson of St. John's, NL and Ian Kotelko of Eddystone, MB; great grandchildren, Austin, Brady, Aubrey, and Ezra; two sisters-in-law, Marg Nowlan of Fredericton, NB and Chris Nowlan of Fredericton, NB, and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Tom was predeceased by six brothers, Willy, Pat, Johnny, Mannie, Ronnie and Everette, and three sisters, Bertie Stafford, Betty Rogers and Bernadette Stafford.

The family would like to thank Dr. Reid and staff of Oromocto Public Hospital for taking such good care of Dad.

Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 6 – 9pm. A Private Family Interment will take place in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Stanley, NB. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
