Obituary of Lori Lynn Wilkinson

On Saturday, June 15, 2024, Lori Lynn Wilkinson-Upton of Zealand, NB, born and raised in Maugerville, New Brunswick, wife of Barry Upton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB.

Born on January 19, 1964 in Fredericton New Brunswick, she was the daughter of Carl (Anna) and the late Myrna Wilkinson. She was the sister of Tom (Beth) Wilkinson of Porter Lake, Nova Scotia, Bob (Beth) Wilkinson of Maugerville, Jennifer Lynn Brewer, Derrick Brewer, Daniel (Katie) Wilkinson, Megan Wilkinson of Fredericton New Brunswick.

Lori is survived by her children, Christopher (Cassie) DeJong and Mikayla (Nick Duthie) DeJong; four grandchildren, Grace, Dawson, Samual, and Nicholas; aunt Sandra Day; chosen sisters, Shellie Morton and Lisa Jones; brother-in-laws, Jerry (Judy) Upton, and Peter Upton; sister-in-law, Suzanne (Jim) Lawrance; her faithful companion, Wyatt. She had numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her beloved mother, Myrna Wilkinson; brothers, Allison and Kevin Wilkinson; maternal grand parents, Donald and Bertha Morton; parental grandparents, George and May Lenentine; special uncle, Keith Morton; niece, Kailey Wadup.

Lori was an advocate for believing in the spirits of the world, she would always say GOD is Good all the time. She was a believer in making your own happiness and taking what nature has to offer.

She truly loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and the family she chose; she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She worked as an Administration support for Horizon Health -Mental Health Department, which she strongly believed in.

A visitation will take place from 12 – 2 pm on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, with a Funeral Service following the visitation at 2 pm at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB, with Rev. Terrance Brewer officiating. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Lung Association, the Canadian Cancer Society, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
