With great sadness the family announce the passing of Kevin Lloyd Butler of Fredericton, NB, which occurred on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on February 14, 1950 in Minto, NB, he was the son of the late Lloyd Butler and Margaret (Dykeman) McMann.
Kevin is survived by his daughters, Jennifer MacFarlane (Benjamin) of Killarney, Janice Butler (Jason Storey) of Fredericton and their mother, Brenda (Thomas) Butler. His grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Declan, Camden and Lachlan MacFarlane; special brother-in-law, Gordon Hare; niece and nephew, Debbie Hallett (Todd) and Michael Hare (Joanna); dear cousin, Katherine Smith (Jeff); brothers-in-law, John Thomas (LoriAnn), Ross Thomas (Cayley), Roy Thomas (Christine); and cherished niece, Bronwyn. Kevin is also survived by many other cousins, nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Kevin was predeceased by his only beloved sister, Lorna Hare; and step-brother, Beverley McMann.
Kevin's daughters would like to give a special thanks to the staff of the Dialysis Unit in Fredericton, and specifically to Charlene.
Arrangements have been entrusted to York Funeral Home, Fredericton. A Celebration of Kevin’s Life will be held at West Hills Golf Club, 200 Summerhill Row, Fredericton on Thursday, June 20, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Interment will take place in Minto United Baptist Church Cemetery, at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to Chalmers Foundation (Dialysis Unit) or The Fredericton SPCA.
