Obituary of Ron Gautreau

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Michael Gautreau on Thursday, June 13, 2024 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer at Hospice in Fredericton, NB.
Born on March 5, 1967 in Toronto, Ontario, he is the son of Edward Gautreau and the late Judy Gautreau (Yates). Ron leaves behind the love of his life Glenda O’Neill. He is also survived by his son Michael Gautreau and his two stepsons Josh O’Neill and Ben O’Neill (Kelly Bolstridge) and his two grandsons Kye and Ryder, who were everything to him, all from Fredericton. Ron is also survived by his sisters Terri Lynn McNaughton (Darren) of South Carolina and Lee Ann Calabrese (Jonathan) of Quispamsis. He is also survived by father and mother in-law, Eldon and Donna MacNeill of Fredericton, sister-in-law Tracy Sullivan (Brian) of Four Falls, NB, brother-in-law Jeremy MacNeill (Sara) of Four Falls, NB, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
Ron worked for several years at the Holiday Inn, Mactaquac in maintenance. This is where he met the woman he was to spend the next 24 years with. Ron was an expert auto detailer both professionally and personally which he took great pride in. Most recently, he loved working as a heavy equipment operator at Envirem Organics.
He was known as “Rockin’ Ronnie” as he loved music, and liked it LOUD! He was a big NASCAR fan and enjoyed doing model cars, going 4-wheeling, drawing, playing darts and washer toss with his buddies. He was a true blue Leafer fan and loved the Jays but his greatest joy was watching hockey games with his grandsons. Ron will be greatly missed by his dog Wilson, who was his best buddy.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Monday, June 17, 2024 from 7 - 9 pm. The Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, June 18, at 2 pm at the Cornerstone Bible Church at 668 Route 104, Burtts Corner, NB, with Pastor Steve Matthews officiating. Interment will take place following the service at the Seymour Memorial Cemetery, 112 Kingsley Road, Estey’s Bridge, NB, with a reception to follow at the Kingsley Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to a trust for Ron’s grandchildren. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
