Obituary of Vincent Aubrey Hunter

The passing of Vincent Aubrey Hunter of Fredericton, NB, husband of the late Bertha Hunter, occurred on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at the Veteran's Health Unit in Fredericton.  Born on August 29, 1930 in Astle, NB, he was the son of the late Leith and Vesta (Green) Hunter. Vincent served in the Canadian Armed Forces as an engineer for 28 years and worked for Corps Commissionaires for several years at C.F.B. Gagetown, NB. He was a Korean Veteran and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93, Oromocto, NB.  He served two tours in Germany (6 years), spent 5 years in Chilliwick and many years in Gagetown, NB.

Vincent is survived by his children, Aubrey Hunter (Beverly) of Geary, Mona Fairbairn (Dean) of Oromocto, Cynthia Jenkins (Shawn) of Geary; grandchildren, Kirk, Lisa, Charlene, Andrea; great-grandchildren, Braydan, Maria and Nicholas; great-great-grandchild, Adina; brother, Winston Hunter (Rowena) of Fredericton, sisters-in-law, Emily Hunter of Astle and Edwina Hunter of Astle.

Besides his parents and wife, he predeceased by his siblings, Leith Hunter, Elma Martin, Merle Hunter; and great-grandson, Gregory Hunter King.

A Graveside Service will be held in Astle Community Cemetery, Astle on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 2 pm, followed by a reception at the Astle Community Centre. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
