Obituary of Douglas Robert Chapman

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Douglas Robert Chapman of Fredericton, NB. Doug, as he was affectionately known, was the beloved husband of Peggy Louise (Astle) Chapman. He left us on June 5, 2024, at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 16, 1949, in Montreal, QC, Doug was the son of the late Alma (Hickey) and John Eric Chapman.

In addition to his loving wife, Doug is survived by his son, John Chapman (Misty), and daughter, Beverley Chapman (Gerald Clements). He leaves behind cherished grandchildren Chanel Clements, Rowan Clements, Lucas Chapman, and Jessie Chapman. He is also survived by his sister, Beverley McLaughlin (Tom), and brothers, David Chapman and Steve Chapman (Erica). Doug will be fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Doug was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Jocelyn Chapman of NB.

A talented mechanic, Doug worked for Speedy Muffler for many years. He had a passion for fishing and cherished his time spent at the pub. In his younger days, he enjoyed riding motorcycles and was an avid shuffleboard and crib player.
