Obituary of Erma Bernice Somerville

The passing of Erma Bernice (Estey) Somerville of Taymouth, NB, wife of William "Bill" Lawrence Somerville, occurred on Friday, May 24, 2024 at the Oromocto Public Hospital.  Born on March 29, 1946 in Zealand, NB,  she was the daughter of the late Carney and Erma (Morehouse) Estey. In her younger years, Erma worked as a Home Support Worker for the Canadian Red Cross, then she stayed at home and raised her three children. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she enjoyed chatting with friends, travelling, knitting, crochet and playing piano.

Besides her loving husband of almost 61 years, Erma is survived by her children, Vickey Craig (Jeff) of Charlottetown, Barb Hallett (Ernie) of Taymouth and Toby Somerville (Tracy) of Zionville; sisters, Charlene Brown (late Gerald) of Geary, Mavis Estey of Oromocto, Zella Tompkins (late Merlin) of Nackawic; chosen brother, Danny Estey (Sylvia) of Zealand; grandchildren, Courtney Craig of Charlottetown, Alex Craig (Shauna) of Charlottetown, Kyle Hallett (Lorena) of Keswick, Dylan Hallett (Sabrina) of Scotland, UK, Kaylee Somerville (Owen) of Fredericton, Jason Somerville of Taymouth, Brady Somerville of Holtville; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Porter and Lenna Hallett and Scarlett Craig; several nieces and nephews.
 

In addition to her parents, Erma is predeceased by her sister, Verna Randall (late Vaughan); sister-in-law, Alice Boardman (late George); brothers-in-law, Glen Somerville and Royce Somerville; niece, Karri Tucker; nephews, Kevin Brown, Roger Randall and Noel Narvey.

Visitation will take place at Nashwaak Valley Pentecostal Church, 2265 Route 148, Taymouth, NB on Sunday, May 26, 2024 from 12 - 2pm. The Funeral Service will immediately follow at 2pm with Rev. Mike Trail officiating. Reception to follow the Burial in Nashwaak Valley Pentecostal Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hallett Missions.
