Obituary of David Daniel Doak Jr.

We mourn the passing of David Daniel Doak Jr., beloved husband of Donna Darlene (Dillon) Doak, who passed away on May 21, 2024, in Fredericton, NB. Born on December 17, 1954, in McGivney Junction, NB, David was the son the late of Flora M. (Collins) Doak and David Daniel Doak Sr.

Dan leaves behind his devoted wife. He is also survived by his children: Adam Doak of Brockville, ON; Katrina McKinnon (Wade) of Brockville, ON; Dylan McKinnon (Brittney) of Brockville, ON; Chris McKinnon (Laura) of Halifax, NS; and Tyler McKinnon of Calgary, AB. David was a proud grandfather to Madeline, Lukus, Landyn, Justin, Payton, Aiden, Jenna, Noah, and Seth, and a great-grandfather to Paylon, Ryder, Matteo, and Ariel. He is also survived by his sisters, Wendy Doak of Toronto and Debbie Calhoun of Fredericton; sisters-in-law, Rose and Donna Doak; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, David was also preceded in death by his son, Lukus Doak, sister, Lois Boyer; brothers, Lawrence, Freeman, Derald, Bernie and Aubrey.

David had a passion for the outdoors, especially enjoying fishing and hunting. He worked on the railroad for 15 years and found great joy in teasing his grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Killarney Lake Lodge, 1600 St. Mary's Street, Fredericton, on Sunday, May 26, 2024, from 5 to 7 PM. Please bring a dish to share in Danny's memory. Interment will take place in McGivney Community Cemetery, McGivney, on May 27, 2024 at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in David's memory can be made to the Fredericton Food Bank, McGivney Community Cemetery, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
