Obituary of Mary Jacqueline Ross

It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Mary Jacqueline Ross, nee McCloskey of Boiestown, NB, wife of the  late Vaughn Ross which occurred on Wednesday May 15th at the Hospice Fredericton. Born on December 14, 1934 in Boiestown NB, she was the daughter of the late Irvine and Beatrice McCloskey, nee Flynn.

Jackie is survived by her sons, Peter (Cathy) Ross of Ludlow, NB and Joel (Alissa) Ross of Fredericton, NB; 12 grandchildren, Courtney, Kristen, Allison, Brandon, Jamie, Barry, Joni, Quinn, Kiley, Sawyer, Harrison, and Lily; 12 great grandchildren, Brock, Lincoln, Summer, Bryden, Michaela, Camden, Jase, Jaxson, Isabella, Alexandria, Kenzie, and Jameson; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Jackie was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, Vaughn A. Ross; daughters, Heather Ross, Barbara MacKay, Anne (Bev) Storey; sister, Annie (Lawrence) Swazey; brother, Joe McCloskey.

Jackie proudly served the Boiestown community as Post Master for Canada Post up until her retirement in 1998. In her life time she volunteered for the St John Ambulance, was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 78 Auxiliary dart team and a devoted member of the St. Joachim’s Catholic Church in Boiestown.

Jackie’s Family would like to thank the Staff at the DECRH, as well as Hospice Fredericton for the great care during her stay.  Committal will take place for Jackie, her daughter Anne and her son-in-law, Bev at Boiestown United Church Cemetery, 3571 Route 625, on June 15, 2024 at 2:00 pm.  Family and Friends are invited to gather at Jackie’s Home for a Celebration of Life following the committal. All are welcome. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Boiestown United Church Cemetery or the St Joachim’s Catholic Cemetery. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
