The passing of Augustave “Gus” Joseph Landry of Durham Bridge, NB, husband of the late Lea Marie Landry, occurred on May, 14, 2024 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July, 29, 1933 in Tracedie, NB, he was the son of the late Eugenie (Comeau) Landry and Patrick Landry.

Gus worked as a General Labourer for Cansteel, he worked as a Security Guard and also in the woods. He was a boxer in his younger years. He loved to play cards, eating at The Pinetree restaurant; he had quite a sense of humour that really came out in his later years.

Gus is survived by his children, Don Landry (Marilyn), Raymond Landry (Heather), Sophie Vienneau, Alfred Landry (Katrina), Patrice Landry (Andrea), Dolores Poirier (Wilfred), Linda Thibodeau (Eric), Patricia Landry, Brenda Landry (Joe); daughter in-law Ann Marie Landry, sister Catherine Brideau, sister in-law Jeanette Basque, sister in-law Amanda Kelly; chosen brother Donat Basque, 28 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his son Eugene Landry; infant son Patrick Landry; sister Jane Kelly and great grandson Hayden Nash.

A funeral service will take place at York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Sunday, May, 19, 2024 at 3:00 pm, with Pastor Gordon Mowry officiating. A potluck gathering at Linda’s will take place after the service. Interment will take place at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
