Dear Patti and Family - we are all heartbroken for you. Phil was such a fun person to be around and brightened up any situation or conversation. I remember when he came to Toronto and teased me for using Dove deodorant that didn’t have a masculine enough scent in his view. But then he decided to borrow it and put some on before going to a Blue Jays game to see if it would “attract” any ladies walking by. So hilarious. Thinking of you. Colin, Jeannine, Leo and Anna

I have known Phil for a long time. He was always thoughtful, caring and kind. First met in minor hockey, Fredericton Youth Hockey Association ( FYHA). You always had to be prepared for his questions during meetings especially the annual meetings. There were many, many questions. All good ! Later , worked with Phil at the Grand Lake generating station. After Grand Lake closed , still worked with Phil as he trained for to become a power system technician . He was very much dedicated to that profession. All that to say, Phil was a Good person. My condolences go out to his family. David Agnew

I took this photo of Phil when we met in 2009, in the Dominican Republic. We became friends almost instantly. His sense of humor was ridiculous and hilarious, and his laugh was contagious. I quickly came to refer to him as "Good Time Phil", because every time was a good time...if he was near. When I first met Phil I was instantly drawn to his zest for life, but it was the way he exuded such unconditional love for his family that really set him apart. His family's happiness was what mattered most, and everything else was secondary. I'm thankful I had the opportunity to see Phil last summer. A couple bon fires and beer at the campground has now evolved into precious memories of him that I will treasure forever. Phil was truly one of a kind, and it's my hope that Patti, his sons, step-children, and grandchildren will find strength in the love and support from everyone in their community, and from those of us from afar.
Sending so much love from the UK,
Julie
