Obituary of Norma Lee Smith

With heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Norma Lee Smith, wife of Bradley Smith of Boiestown, NB, on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at her home following a valiant battle with cancer.  Born on March 29, 1967 in Fredericton, NB, she was raised by the late Murray and Nellie Lyons. Norma worked as a Scaler at the Ashley Colter Mill, spent time working as the Executive Administrator for her Cabinet Minister and most recently as an Administrative Services Representative at NB Power. She was Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star and a United Church Elder.

In addition to her loving husband of 40 years, Norma is survived by her children, Aaron, Alex and Sasha (Michelle); grandchildren, Mya and Jeremy; brothers Wally and Richard Mercer; chosen siblings, Cathy Shay, Mary Veno, Trecia Robichaud (Melvin), Dorothy Colford (Wallace), Lee Lyons, Gary Lyons (Ruth), Harry Lyons (Wendy) and Irven Lyons; father, Kenneth Lyons.
 

Besides her grandparents, who raised her as their own, Norma was predeceased by six chosen siblings; and her mother, Mercia Mercer.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held at Gateway of Hope Assembly, 35 Company Road, Boiestown, NB on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 2 pm with Rev. Brian Curtis officiating.  Members of The Eastern Star will be assembling for a Tribute during the service. Interment will take place in Cameron Hill Cemetery, Holtville at a later date.
