Obituary of Douglas Lloyd DuPlessis

Our beloved Douglas Lloyd DuPlessis, aged 67, of Keswick, New Brunswick went to be with his Saviour on April 20^th, 2024. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.

Douglas was born on March 22, 1957, to the late Lloyd and Juanita (Alward) DuPlessis in Fredericton, NB. 

Douglas was a very special baby brother to David and Brother-In-Law to Ida (Betts) DuPlessis.  He was a much-loved uncle to Jason (Erica), Julie (Hardie) & Jeremy (Sarah).  He was such a proud Papa to Caitlyn, Cameron, Layne & Allison.

Douglas was predeceased by his parents and greatest advocates, Lloyd & Juanita as well as an infant older brother, George Alfred. 

Douglas never let his different abilities slow him down.  He was employed at H.S Gill & Sons Lumber Mill in Nashwaaksis and faithfully served as an employee and shareholder of the DuPlessis Family Dairy Farm for many years.  He was a member of the Keswick Baptist Church where he sang in the choir, greeted people at the door and served as an usher. Douglas loved to sing, strum his old guitar, dance and would think of every reason he could to celebrate. Douglas also attended the Murray F. Humes School in Fredericton, NB.

Over the past few years, Douglas had an amazing team of caregivers whom he loved so much. We are so grateful for you in allowing us to keep him healthy as he lived his best life. 

Visitation will take place at the Keswick Baptist Church at 51 Route 104 on Thursday, April 25^th, 2024, from 4-8pm.  The funeral service will take place at Keswick Baptist Church on Friday, April 26^th, 2024, at 2pm with Rev. Matthew Maxwell officiating.  Interment will take place at the Mactaquac Baptist Church Cemetery, at 1496 Route 105 in Mactaquac, following the service.
