Obituary of Wilbert Theodore Sabine

Please share a memory of Wilbert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce the death of Wilbert “Wib” Theodore Sabine, leaving to mourn his loving wife Heather along with family & friends. Born in St. Stephen, NB on August 29, 1959, he was the son of Waldron Sabine and the late Maxine (Johnson) Sabine. Wilbert went to St. Stephen High School and graduated in 1977. He attended Maritime Forest Ranger School, received his Forest Ranger Technician Diploma in 1980 then began working for the Department of Natural Resources. Later he moved to the Department of Agriculture, Aquaculture & Fisheries in 2003 as Enforcement Manager.

Wilbert enjoyed walking, riding his motorcycles (street & trail), fishing, golfing, gardening, camping, boating, & traveling. PEI was one of our favourite vacation spots. He loved working outdoors, was meticulous about caring for his home & grounds.

He liked all wildlife and especially enjoyed watching the deer in our backyard (as long as they were not eating all our flowers). Wilbert enjoyed spending time with his family, especially working on projects with his Dad and time spent at the family camp at Foster Lake. His pride & joy was his 1985 Camero in which we took many road trips.

Wilbert received the Peace Officer Exemplary Service Medal in recognition of 30 years of loyal and exemplary service to public safety in Canada.

In addition to his wife of 26 years, Heather (Delano) Sabine and his father Waldron Sabine, he is survived by his sisters, Karen Sabine, Wanda Coyne; brother, Robert Sabine; his niece, Erin Coyne; and nephew, Eric Coyne. He is also survived by his loving cat, CC; several sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law; nieces & nephews.
