My most sincere condolences to Dale's family. I worked with Dale at Medicare for 5 yrs before I retired. I enjoyed many discussions with Dale and enjoyed how well he grasped an issue. He was always willing to listen to differing opinions and offered valid points in an argument. I was so happy to see how well Dale was doing at Medicare. I know he will be sadly missed by his family, friends and co-workers. RIP, Dale.

Dear Louise, Nathan , Noah, Claire & family,
Like many other people I was very surprised and saddened to hear that Dale had passed. I knew he was battling something, but unfortunately was not aware of the gravity of his situation. I am so sorry for your loss. Dale was a super guy. I loved running into him. He had a really dry sense of humour, which I love, so our talks always left me with a smile afterwards. Having met your Dad in the early days of Park St school it was evident that he cherished all of you. Louise, you and Dale made a great team raising three wonderful kids (young adults) together. The love that Dale has for each one of you will always be there. He's not going to stop, you can count on that.
My sincere condolences...

I have known Dale for 30 years as visitor to my family practice office in his sales role, then as his role in DOH and Medicare. I considered him a friend over these years as we both had athletic children and we both were athletes . My office staff always loved Dale and he was privileged by them to walk in as he wished and we always shared stories about our families. I am shocked , saddened and know the loss his family must feel for this kind , gentle , intelligent man who was loved by all. His contributions to his community and health care in NB live on with the programs he developed , particularly for the vulnerable elderly. Tom Barry MD

As Department of Health colleagues, our interface was more personal than professional. On a few occasions, we jogged in summer heat. Dale, sweating in black garb, spoke lovingly of his family while easily outpacing me with vague, understated explanations of a football past. I will always smile at our mutual hallway: "and now the day is complete". He was a bright light, intelligent and highly respected - we are fortunate to have known him and offer deepest sympathies.

I’m crushed. The world has lost a wonderful human. Dale was the type of person that you may only encounter a few times in your life. He set the bar high on being a kind, caring and beautiful soul.
I was lucky enough to meet Dale on the first day of classes my second year at Acadia. The professor asked us to form a group, and not knowing anyone, I looked around to find Dale in the row behind me. He kindly offered me to join him and three others for what would become our core group for the entire year. Little did I know what great friendships were about to develop. What laughs we all had.
I am so devastated for you, Louise, and your beautiful children. Although we’ve never met, I was lucky enough to cross paths with Dale and the boys at hockey tournaments over the years. He would update me on the kids and your life together in Fredericton. I was so grateful for those quick catch-ups. He was such a proud husband and dad.
Dale had so many exceptional qualities that will shine through and be abundantly present in your three children. A powerful legacy that will keep Dale near for always.
To Trudy, Wayne, and Paula it’s been 30 years since we last saw each other. I hold many fond memories of the times I spent with the Standing clan. I am so sorry your family is experiencing this tremendous loss.
Dale leaves the best part of himself with all of us, and we are all better for knowing him.

I met Dale about 30 years ago and we shared an apartment in Bathurst NB for a winter season. Both of us just coming out of University and both just starting our first jobs. He was a prince, a true gentleman and salt of the earth. I remember his keen and dry sense of humor.
I was shocked and very saddened to hear the news of his passing last week. I would like to extend my deepest condolences to his wife, kids, family and friends.

I want to offer my most sincere condolences to Dale’s family. I had the pleasure of working with Dale in his early days of Medicare and I found him to be very very dedicated to his work. He was an asset to our team. I always enjoyed his sense of humour. Its a great loss for all those who knew him. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this very difficult time.

My deepest condolences to Dale's family and friends. I worked with Dale at DOH. I have to say, he was a joy to be around and just an all around nice guy!
I'll never forget the time I gave him a lift to Mike's garage on Woodsrock road, so he could pick up his vehicle. I lived across the street at the time.
It had snowed heavily that day and Mike's driveway hadn't been plowed yet. I said "Hang on to your socks Dale, we're going in," and I revved up the old VW and plowed my way through. Poor Dale, he laughed (maybe a nervous laugh at my wild driving), but I got him to the door and he was grateful for the lift.
He was a great guy, someone you could talk to, and someone you could trust. He will be truly missed.
