After we lost our nephew in 2005, the most meaningful support I received was from Sue. He had battled severe depression and did not survive the illness. He was 17. She offered up an unbelievably tender quote from Tolstoy. I shall attempt to do it justice, but please know that this quote applies as incredibly-appropriate for us now as we settle into a life of now.
It’s about learning when and where You put a Period in sentence structure! Stay with me here:…for “ a sentence is always followed by a Period-no matter if we expect it to or not. For the period always lands exactly where it is meant to, and never were you or when you had planned to put it. The sentence ends where it should end. It always does. Therefore, we must adjust to that fact “. And so too does the Period representing Sue’s journey in this life. Her Period is following up after the greatest sentence of her life. She was fully topped up by love, and she was satisfied as she moved gently into her “next room “. Rest well in peaceful slumber Sue. Until we meet again.

My condolences to you, Penny and the rest of Sue's family. I am so glad that I recently talked with you and Sue, enjoying yourselves at the market. When I met Sue on course so many years ago, I never expected to find a friend who would share the same sense of humour and be such a life long friend. Sue will leave a large gap in our lives and our hearts.

My deepest sympathies, Penny. Sue was an exceptionally kind and generous woman. I got the chance to enjoy her sense of fun and wit on the golf course, but it is her thoughtfulness and kindness toward people at key moments that I will remember, like the cold November evening that you and Sue arrived at my door with a great pot of soup.Thinking of you, Maureen Toner.

Always have and always will carry a special place for in my heart for Sue. She will be remembered for her kindness, sensitive nature and witty sense of humour.
When our granddaughter was in hospital, Sue remastered a photo of Maizie and removed the pic line and hospital stuff, cause it just wasn’t right!
The next time we saw each other words were barely spoken as our tears said it all. Rest easy my friend ❤️
Sincere and deepest condolences Penny and family,
thinking of you with love and friendship,
Dave & Crystal
(Hope you enjoy a few snippets of conversation we shared, reflecting Sue’s spirit. I can just see Maizie loving and laughing with Sue right now!)

Penny, Carolyn and I are so shocked and saddened by the news of Sue's passing. When we visited a couple of weeks ago we saw how much discomfort she was in due to her illness. Even in pain, her bright personality, smile and sense of humor was evident. Sue had a big heart, and a soft spot for all needy families and kids especially at Christmas. She loved helping people. Penny, losing someone you love so much is extremely hard and times ahead will be difficult without Sue. You took such wonderful care of her during her illness. Take solace she is no longer suffering and now watching over you. We hope all your great memories together help you at this time. Please reach out to us if you need anything.

I am so sorry to hear of Susan’s passing. I remember her kind and gentle spirit shining as she worked tirelessly before Christmas to help provide baskets and presents for families around Fredericton. Gathering donations, encouraging others to help and shopping for just the right gift for each child. A very special lady indeed.

Penny, Bev and I are so sorry for your heartbreaking loss. Our condolences to you, Jeff and Faith, her family and friends. Can't express how sad I am to hear of Sue's passing. When I first met Sue at NBP 30+ years ago, I was terrified of her and her sharp tongue, lol. It didn't take long at all to learn she was a big softie and that I could depend on her for anything, work-related or not. Her heart was huge as was her willingness to teach and to listen. She was one of the best! Penny, my heart breaks for you and I hope your happy memories stay strong. Thank you Sue for all your kindness and advice. xo

Hi Penny, I don’t know if you remember but my husband Dan, who passed in 2020, and I met you and Sue several times at breakfast and we always enjoyed our chats. I didn’t realize Sue was dealing with medical issues and I know you were there by her side all through everything. Times won’t be easy but all the wonderful memories you shared will help ease the pain. Take care.

Saddened to learn of Sue's passing. I knew Sue from NB Power. I will forever remember her for her huge smile, her marvelous sense of humour and her zest for life. She didn't have a pretentious bone in her body and her heart was as big as outdoors. May you rest in eternal peace.

Penny: My condolences on the passing of Sue. I always enjoyed our chats. After our retirement I remembered her every day it snowed when you both were in Florida and I was blowing snow. Her choice for winter was better than mine! She will surely be missed by all that knew her. The world needs more Sue’s in their life!

I am sorry to say I lost touch with Sue when we both retired so I did not realize she was unwell. The obituary perfectly describes her vibrant personality and it is no surprise that she and Penny fully enjoyed her retirement and their lives together. I admired and respected her work at NBP and the contributions she made to the energy of her work group. Stay happy in your next life Sue!
