LaVigne, Adéline “Addy” Marie

Addy LaVigne of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Robert “Bob” Paul LaVigne, passed away peacefully February 22, 2024, at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on January 13, 1942, in South Tetagouche, NB, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Melvine (Henry) Daigle. Addy worked as a head waitress and manager for the Coffee Mill and the BBQ Barn. She was the proud fifth female member of the City Club.  She was an avid bowler, and had a wicked sense of humor. She left an impression on everyone she met. People were instantly drawn to her. She always had a smile on her face and was always welcoming. Her house was impeccable and her favorite morning ritual was her cold crusty toast with marmalade and coffee while reading her paper ("It's toast, it's supposed to be crunchy!"). She was loved by so so so many. She loved to play crib but you had to keep a vigilante eye on her *wink wink*. “It’s only cheating if you get caught.”  Addy will be dearly missed by so many, she was one of a kind and the world is a sadder place without her.

Addy is survived by her daughter, Suzanne LaVigne (Mark) of Pefferlaw, ON; siblings, Lea Leger, Wilfred Jr. (Linda), Delcina Wilkins (Gerald - deceased), Irvin (Carol), Suzanne Smith (Bill).

Special mention to her chosen daughter, Crystal Stones; really good friend, Jim Ryan; one of many cousins, Nancy Wyborn; plus, several nieces and nephews. And we cannot forget her “Legion Crew”.

She was predeceased by her brother, Urban Daigle (Yvonne), and sister Alice Pitre (Vincent).

A Funeral Service will take place at Holy Family Parish, 1500 Hanwell Road, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 12:00 pm (noon) with Father Bill Brennan officiating.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com.
