Obituary of Joanne Elizabeth Brown-Pugh

Please share a memory of Joanne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Joanne “Jo” Elizabeth Brown-Pugh

April 3, 1960 – February 19, 2024

“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed, and very dear”.

Surrounded by family in a room filled with love, Joanne passed peacefully at Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. The family takes comfort in knowing that Jo is finally at peace after a long and courageous battle with Logopenic Primary Progressive Aphasia.

Wife of Leslie “Les” Pugh for 22 years, Joanne and Les resided in Upper Keswick, New Brunswick. Les has not only been Jo’s loving husband and friend; he has also been her rock over the past several years, for which Jo’s children will be forever grateful. Les and Joanne so enjoyed each other’s company, time with friends, and adventures like owning a hobby farm.

Joanne loved animals and many stray dogs found their way into her heart and her home. Joanne was talented in so many ways and loved cooking, gardening, and canning. Jo could also make a mean chocolate cake with boiled icing, as well as many other goodies. We will all miss her onion bread.

Prior to taking an early retirement, Joanne worked for GNB in the Department of Social Development. Although Joanne enjoyed working, her greatest joy in life was her family. Above all else Joanne loved spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Jo is survived by her husband Les, as well as her children; Shane Foreman (Natalie), Josh Foreman (Megan), Kara Wynia (Jeremy), stepdaughter Meaghan Fu (Lingchao), stepson Nick Pugh and grandchildren; Alex, Lane, Drew, Sara Mae, Lexi, Lennon, Joey, Oscar, and Felix. Jo is also survived by her sister Ruby Jenkins (Lew) and by brothers Benvie Sample (Donna) and Phillip Brown. Joanne is survived by several loving nieces and nephews. Friend to all, Jo is survived by numerous friends, including lifetime friends and fellow musketeers.

Joanne is predeceased by her loving parents William “Woody” and Marion Brown. Jo is also predeceased by infant siblings Linda-Marie, Billy, and Stephen-Wayne Brown. She is also preceded in death by nephew Jamie Clark and husband Joseph “Joey” Foreman.

A special thanks to Enhanced Living Gagetown for all the love and care you provided Jo the last several months. Your love for Jo was apparent and for that the family is extremely grateful.
