Obituary of Anne Marie Hawkins

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Anne Marie Hawkins of Upper Kingsclear, NB, beloved wife of Gary Hawkins for forty-two years, which occurred on February 10, 2024 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital.  Born on March 19, 1957 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Leonce and Florine (LeBlanc) Chenard. 

Anne is survived by her cherished sons, Chris Hawkins, Blake Hawkins and Ted Hawkins (Alexa Gualazzi) all of Fredericton, NB; brothers Paul Chenard of Wolfville, NS, Jacques Chenard (Cindi) of Dartmouth, NS and Marc Chenard (Sherry Thomson) of Fredericton, NB; grandson Landon; nephews, Patrick, Geoffrey, Laurent and Olivier.

Anne’s consistently positive attitude and enduring strength was an inspiration to all. Her faithful love and support for family is everlasting. Anne was a happy, kind, and thoughtful person; a fun-loving free spirit who found joy in generosity and was exceedingly optimistic – she always selflessly considered the happiness of others. Anne loved music and her annual family vacations, where she tirelessly worked to ensure good times for all. She was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories including her radiant smile which always lit up the room. Anne will be dearly missed by her family, her lifelong and new friends, as well as work colleagues, who were amongst some of her dearest friends.

Family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of Dr. E. Chalmers Hospital, 4SW and Palliative Care.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Parish Church, 1500 Hanwell Road, Fredericton, NB on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 2pm with Fr. Bill Brennan as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada or to a charity of the donor's choice.  Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
