The passing of Christine Marlene Lewis of Fredericton, NB, occurred on February 8, 2024 at Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on October 19, 1938 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Stewart and Murial (Christie) Lewis.
Christine was retired from the Department of Supply and Services. She was a liver transplant recipient 25 years ago which allowed her to enjoy bowling, reading, square dancing, baseball and spending time with her family. She was a graduate of CGIT, a member of the Marysville United Church, taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and was a member of the UCW.
Christine is survived by her sister-in-law, Sandra Lewis of Fredericton; nieces and nephews, Terrance (Judy) Lemon, Bonnie (Ken) Hickey, Robert (Pam) Lemon, Krista (Bev) Arbeau, Melanie (Herb) Moore and Kevin (Jamie) Lewis; great nieces and nephews; great great, niece and nephew; and nephew-in-law, Jack Rackley. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Lewis; sister, Hazel Lemon and niece, Brenda Rackley.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Sunday, February 11, 2024 from 2 to 4 pm. The funeral will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Monday, February 12, 2024 at 2 pm with Rev. Kelly Burke officiating. Interment will take place in the Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery, at a later date. In lieu of flower, donations may be made to the Marysville United Church, Canadian Liver Foundation, New Brunswick Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
