Obituary of Carolyn Elizabeth Johnston

Please share a memory of Carolyn to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

The passing of Carolyn Elizabeth Johnston of Fredericton, NB, wife of Ronald Johnston, occurred on Friday, February 2, 2024.  Born on May 21, 1953 in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Wallace and Rose (Knox) Davidson. Carolyn worked in customer service for NB Power for over 31 years.  She was a life member of Devon Park Baptist Church; prior to this she attended Union Street Baptist Church. She was quiet by nature but could communicate with anyone.

In her younger years she always enjoyed going for drives with her grandfather, at the end of the drive she was always treated with Cracker Jacks. She would never turn away dark chocolate either! Her many interests included traveling, preferred the desert in Arizona over the humidity in Florida, but made many trips to both, she also enjoyed reading, watching TV (SOAPS and the News at 6) or anything to do with the Queen, spending time on her computer learning anything about labs and retrievers. She occasionally would shop at LL Bean and Naturalizer for shoes. It was a sad day for her when Zellers and Sears closed as these were always her go to.

In addition to her husband of 48 years, Carolyn is survived by her siblings, Michael Davidson (Sandra) of Rusagonis, NB and Wallace Jr. Davidson (Sheryl) of Ripples, NB; nieces, Brittany (Bob), Lindsey (Marc); sister-in-law, Betty Johnston; and aunt, Fern McLean (Ralph).

A Private Family visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB. A Private Interment will take place in Sunny Bank Cemetery, Fredericton, NB at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fredericton SPCA, IWK or to a charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
