Brewer, Vera Edna

The passing of Vera Edna Brewer of Douglas, NB, wife of Eldred Ralston Brewer, occurred on January 9, 2024 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on February 21, 1943 in Havelock, NB, she was the daughter of the late Lottie and Melbourne Alward. Vera worked as an LPN for Pine Grove Nursing Home and was a devoted housewife and mother. She was a devoted active member of the Douglas Baptist Church, as well as the WMS and taught Sunday School.

Vera is survived by children, Derek Brewer (Lois) of Havelock, Joel Brewer (Lynnette) of Fredericton, and Jill Haines (Chris) of Fredericton; grandchildren and honorary pallbearers, Adrienne Skinner (Brett), Ellen Brewer, Maggie Gilmore (Eric), Allison Roy (Dan), Mackenzie Brewer, and Leah Brewer-Bilerman; great grandsons Myles, Holden, Reid, and Mason; siblings, Larry Alward (Allie), Gerald Alward (Margery), Lloyd Alward (Carol), Mary MacQuarrie (Gordon), Ronald Alward (Shirley), and half-sister Winona McLean (late Ernie). As well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
 

Visitation will take place on Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton. A funeral service will take place at Douglas Baptist Church, 1012 NB-105, Douglas on Friday, January 12, 2024 at 2 PM with Rev. Peter Moore officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
