Paul was so awesome to us from the first day we met back in 1988. He was always there to assist and make things happen. He was a wonderful gentlemen and one of the best guys I met in the radio business. We so appreciated his help in Freddybeach. RIP Paul and condolences to his family. Ross (Parks)

Dear sweet Anne,
You have been in my thoughts since I heard the news and I continue having flashes of all the good times I had with the two of you in the 1980/1990. You were so well matched as a couple. Please feel my virtual hug.
I hope that those days and all happy memories throughout the years will help you through these difficult days.
Paul will be remembered with a smile.

I was sad to hear the news of Paul’s passing. I met Paul back in 1984 when we worked weekends together at the radio station. Paul had a wry sense of humour as well as kindness and a sense of calm. Mary-Jo and I extend our sincere condolences to Anne and the family.

A met Paul soon after moving to Fredericton when he brought Bumblebee into the station one weekend and scared the living heck out of me. From then we would see each other in passing on occasion, but he always had something positive or encouraging to say, even if it had been months since we last spoke. When you look up gentleman in the dictionary, there should be a picture of Paul.

Saddened to hear of Paul's passing. In the late 90's there was the Civic Pride Committee that I chaired for a few years and Paul was instrumental in helping us do whatever to make that one day festival downtown work. We lost touch after i moved from Fredericton and just read about this huge loss in Broadcast Dialogue magazine. RIP my friend.

In memory of Paul Wentzell. I only worked with him a few years but he was a really great person. The kind who could talk you into walking that parade route, even after you told him last year you weren't doing it again. Take care, Beth

Oh, Annie, what a shock to hear, and what a loss for you and the kids. I have so many fond memories of poker at your kitchen table, and beer in the basement after ball games. Paul and I stayed in touch through work for these past decades (!), and I scanned every crowded room for him when attending events. It was a few months since he and I last chatted, so I was fairly up to date on the happenings of the Wentzell family. He was so proud of Nicole, Mark and Alex and everything they are and will achieve.
I have one particular memory to share. It was when Nicole was a baby, and most of us were in our early 20’s party-mode (to be clear, I am a few years younger than you and Paul haha). We were at Sweetwater’s one Friday night after work, enjoying a libation and the free food they offered. I said something to Paul along the lines of “too bad you can’t stay out with us”, knowing he was planning to go straight home. He looked at me with all seriousness and said “there is nowhere else I want to be than home with Annie and the baby. I can’t wait to get home.”
At that moment in my life, this statement floored me. It was a such a simple thing for him to say. But for me it was profound, and I have never forgotten. I have shared it a few times over the years, to pass along Paul's wisdom that the best time to have kids is when you know there is nowhere else you would rather be.
I don’t know if I ever talked with Paul about that memory, and even though we didn’t see each other as often as I would have liked, I feel confident that his choice and desire to be with you and with the kids and now grandkids, never wavered.
Knowing how much I will miss him is a drop in the bucket to what you are feeling. I hope it brings some measure of comfort to know how Paul positively impacted so many people, in ways large and small

Oh "Annie", my heart breaks for your and your family. You and Paul were some of my very first friends when I moved to Fredericton, and even though we haven't seen each other often, you are always in my heart.
Some memories are better to be shared in person, so we can laugh at the fond and funny memories of some of the antics of our "younger selves". God Bless you all, and may Paul rest in peace. He was a gem!

Anne and Family: I am saddened to read of Paul's early leave from here. I worked with Paul on the Canada Day celebrations for five years when I was VP of the Celebrate Canada Committee for NB. He was always showing a relaxed frame of mind despite the many challenges the day presented. He certainly was an inspiration to everyone who had thoughts to volunteer for their community. Your Family will certainly miss him. The City of Fredericton will miss him. Many groups will miss him. Well done, Paul

Jacquie and I were really saddened to hear of Paul's passing and our thoughts go out to all his friends and family at this time.I had not seen or spoke to Paul since his retirement party from Astral many years ago but rarely see anyone from work anymore. Always liked Paul's attitude and friendly demeaner and we certainly had our differences over the boardroom table from time to time but all issues were quickly forgotten. Great guy, great attitude, and he certainly made an impression with all those he worked and played through Radio One,Telemedia, and Astral and after my time there,Bell and Stingray.
Smooth journey man!
