Obituary of Marena Beatrice Parent

The family is saddened to announce the passing of Marena Parent of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Charles Parent, on December 1, 2023 at Pine Grove Nursing Home.  Born on March 11, 1937 in Chipman, NB, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Ruby (Fulton) Parlee. 

 

Marena is survived by her son, Kevin Parent of Noonan; daughter-in-law Wina Parent (John Bishop), grandson Adam Parent, of Mazerolle Settlement; great grandsons Dylan, Charlie and Blake; sisters, Rita Vautour and Judy Clarke of Fredericton; and Debbie Fulton (Al) of Noonan; and brother, Carman Parlee of Minto; brother-in-law, Don Parent (Ann) of Fredericton; sister-in-law, Elise Hoeppner of Woodburn, Indiana; several nieces and nephews. 

 

Marena was predeceased by her son Richard in 1991 and her brothers, Clive, Herbie and Donnie Parlee.
 

Prior to her retirement she worked at United Auto Parts and Auto Machinery.  Her hobbies included bowling, camping, playing cards and going for drives on Sunday afternoons.

 

Visitation will take place prior to the funeral at St. James Presbyterian Church, 1991 Route 640, Hanwell, NB on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at 1 pm with the funeral following at 2 pm with Rev. Wendy MacWilliams officiating.  Interment will take place in the Penniac Cemetery, at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the St. James Presbyterian Church Parking Lot Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com
