Aunt Eleanor will always be near and dear to me. When I first met my family (in my early 30s) she was there. She was feisty, fun, and brilliantly beautiful inside and out. Her eyelashes and lips made her look like a movie star. She was sassy and yet, welcoming and loving. When I stayed with her and Gram I was fully entertained by their antics. So much laughter and love always accompanied my dear Aunt Eleanor. To say that I will miss knowing that you are dazzling and entertaining someone on this planet is an understatement. You were young at heart and soothed my soul. I’m so sorry you are gone. A couple of weeks ago I shared a story about you with my new coworker. It always makes everyone laugh when I tell it. You bring joy to others even when not in the room and will continue to do so - because I will keep telling stories about you. Much love.

I was one of the staff who worked closely with Eleanor. She was a wonderful lady. Eleanor had a very fashion forward sense of style. She was a wonderful dresser. I became very accustomed to seeing her face & spending time with her. I am glad she is now at peace. Prayers and condolences to her daughter & the family.

When I was a kid, my Aunt Eleanor moved to Winnipeg. I told my Mom that I missed Eleanor and Mom said maybe I should write her and tell her. So I did and soon I got a letter back, which as a child has to be one of the most exciting things to happen. I, of course, promptly wrote another letter. And so started a magical correspondence. Sometimes the letters would include a little surprise tucked into the envelope. I felt so special that my sophisticated, big city aunt wrote to me. But that was my Aunt Eleanor, she always made you feel that you were important to her. And again, I’m writing a letter to my Aunt Eleanor to tell her I miss her.
Sincere condolences to the family

I remember Eleanor singing and playing the guitar at Jack & Rika's the day after Roger's wedding. My late husband Don loved music and was quite enthralled with her performance. She certainly had the gift of music which the Johnston's were blessed with.
It is sad that her health was not good for the last while.
My sympathy to the family.
Love, Maxine McQuade

It is with sadness that the family of Julie and Dean Little send our sincerest condolences to the family of Eleanor. We are friends of the family and were neighbours for a time. We have many memories of visiting the Homestead, and Eleanor greeting us with her gentle yet mischievous smile. Countless times at the end of one event or another. Eleanor would undoubtedly be curled up in the rocking chair with one or more of her grandkids, rocking them to sleep or singing to them. Eleanor was a fun and kind person and she will be greatly missed by many. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. Julie , Dean, Victoria, Gavin & Olivia Little
